Viola Roberts Cassity, 94, of Morehead, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2021 at her home.
She was born on January 27, 1927 in Zilpo, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Lee and Bertha McKinney Roberts.
Mrs. Cassity was a retired schoolteacher having taught at Salt Lick Elementary School and Clearfork.
She was a graduate of Morehead State College and was a nature lover, who enjoyed bird watching, genealogy, camping, fishing, quilting, arrowhead hunting, walking, wildflowers and listening to music, especially Ricky Skaggs, Elvis and Big Band Music.
Survivors include two daughters Donna Lynn Cassity of Morehead and Carolyn Cassity Sanders (Darrell Michael) of Plano, Texas, two grandchildren, Joseph Michael Sanders and Crystal Marie Sanders, two great-grandchildren, Evelyn Gray Sanders and Kent Michael Sanders and her beloved pets, her dog, Spanky and her cat, Rosie.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 25, 2021 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead. The eulogy will be provided by Mike Sanders.
Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery.
Visitation is from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Hunt, James Reynolds, Frosty McKenzie and Mike Sanders.
