Vinda Moore

Vinda Frances Thomas Moore, age 89, of Morehead Kentucky went home to be with her Lord as she was surrounded by family on Friday, February 18, 2022.

She was born on September 19, 1932, on Christy Creek to the late James Ruben Thomas and Sabrina Sparks Thomas.

Vinda was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. She enjoyed being a homemaker and the neighborhood childcare provider. She loved quilting, crocheting, sewing, gardening (green thumb), cooking, spending time with her family, and being a Kentucky Colonel. Vinda was greatly loved and will be dearly missed; her family considers themselves blessed for the time they were granted with her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Coy Eugene Moore of 58 years, her granddaughter, LaToya Leah Susan “LT” Cooper, her brothers, John Carl Thomas and Claude Thomas and her sisters, Emma Lee (Thomas) Smith, Edith (Thomas) Chadwell, Ruby (Thomas) Elam, Mary Jane (Thomas) Kidd, and Madge (Thomas) Elliott.

She is survived by her children, Linda Kay (Moore) Cooper and Billy Gene Moore, her grandchildren, John Cooper II, Mary (AJ) van Rhyn, James (Michelle) Cooper, her great-grandchildren, Arrieana van Rhyn, Keegan van Rhyn, and Jace Coy Cooper, her brothers, James Thomas, Clyde Thomas, and Clayton Thomas and her sisters, Sue (Thomas) Hardin and Bonnie (Thomas) Woods, along with many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 followed by the funeral service at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of the Michael Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Pastor Michael Anderson officiating.
