Scott Wayne Jenkins, 57 of Crain Creek Road (Weaver Hollow) Wallingford, Kentucky passed away Thursday morning, May 13, 2021 at his home after an extended illness. He was born in Morehead, Kentucky on April 30, 1964 to the late Ralph and Hazel Brown Jenkins.


Scott worked at Bulk Plants INC, in Flemingsburg until his illness in July 2020. He has also worked for Rowan County Bus Garage as a bus driver about 8 years. He was a real estate agent for around 10 years.


He was a locally well known singer. He started out singing in 1987 with the Gospelites. Then in 1990 he was a founding member of Heirs of Faith. Then in 2003 he was a founding member of On A Journey.


He was a very quite, gentle and humble man that loved his wife of 36 years, their four boys and daughter-in-laws and especially their 7 grandchildren. He had a passion for singing for his Lord and Savior. He was very dedicated to the singing ministry that he was blessed to be in. He enjoyed fishing and loved to be outside on the farm doing what needed to be done.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandmother Rosa Jenkins and a special uncle Anthony Jenkins who both helped raise him. Also, a sister Judy Winfield.

Survivors include his wife Donna Weaver Jenkins, four sons, Blake of Wallingford, Kentucky, Matthew (Liz) of Hillsboro, Kentucky, Christian (Lauren) of Ewing, Kentucky and Cameron Jenkins of Wallingford. Seven grandchildren Kurtis, Kadence, Ariel, EmmaLynn, Blair, Ellouise and Colby Jenkins. Five brothers; Kenneth (Cynthia) Jenkins, Larry (Karen) Jenkins, Jake Jenkins, Bill Jenkins and Harvey Jenkins all of Indiana. His father -in-law, Earnie Weaver of Wallingford, sister-in-law, Theresa Hollan and her husband Phillip of Morehead and brother-in-law, Vincent Weaver and his wife Frances of Wallingford. Two aunts; Marian Barber  and Phyllis (Clyde) Sluss of Morehead and two uncles; Fred (Nancy) Jenkins and Mike (Sandy) Jenkins all of Clearfield. Also, many other cousins, relatives and friends.

A celebration of life service will be conducted 2:00 pm Sunday, May 16, 2021 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Rev. Rob Kidd, Rev. Harley Sexton, Jr. and Rev. Darrell Marshall officiating.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead is after 5:00 pm Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly ask that contributions be directed to Michael R. Gray Funeral Home to help offset the funeral expenses.

The Michael R. Gray Funeral Home, 808 Old Flemingsburg Road, Morehead, Kentucky 40351 is caring for arrangements for Scott Jenkins.
