Penny “Nana” Bowman, 57, of Weaver Ridge, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, November 7, 2020.
She was born on December 19, 1962 in Columbia City, Indiana.
She was a member of Slab Camp Church.
Penny was a jack of all trades. She enjoyed cooking and making homemade soaps, lotions and scrubs. She was a 4-H Coach for 11 years. She worked on campus as a 911 dispatcher and she worked at a Jewelry Store named Leroy’s. Penny also taught at Clearfield Tabernacle. Nana loved spending time with her grandchildren most of all.
Penny’s door was always open. Anyone and everyone who knew her knew they could come over anytime of the day or night. She always had something cooking or a good card game on the table ready to play. Any child who crossed Penny’s path knew she would be there for them in anyway she could. To many she was their Momma Bowman. To some she was a friend. To us she was our Mom. To her grandchildren she was their Nana. We love you Nana.
Survivors include her husband, John Bowman, her parents, Shirley and Bob Johnson of Maxey Flat, two sons, Jonathan (Jewel) Bowman and Caiden Gene Bowman all of Morehead, five daughters, Kelly Bowman, Amanda Bowman and MaKayla Bowman all of Morehead, Aly (Derek) McClain of Clearfield and Sarah Bowman of West Salem, Wisconsin, one sister, Glenda Edwards of Bethpage, Tennessee, six grandchildren, Addison, Dixie, Briar, Amelia, Patrick and Carter all of Morehead and a special niece, Nicole Brewer of Maxey Flat.
