Willa France

Mrs. Willa Bea Adkins France, 83, of Lexington formerly of Morehead, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2014 in the Diversicare of Nicholasville Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on July 16, 1931 in Rowan County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Willie and Tina Christian Adkins.

Mrs. France had worked for Cowden Manufacturing Company for 35 years in Morehead and Lexington. She had also been a cook for the Jessamine County Board of Education.

She loved to cook, work puzzles and enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul France, who passed away on January 25, 1987, one son, Larry Allen France, who passed away on November 21, 2012, one brother, Jim Adkins and one sister, Freda Compton.

Survivors include her daughter, Brenda Wheeler of Nicholasville, one brother, David Adkins of Prestonsburg, five grandchildren, Michael Allen Wheeler, Gerald Wheeler and Ashley Hatter all of Nicholasville and Heather Hicks and Kimberly Adams both of Pikeville and nine great-grandchildren, Blake, Gracie, Michaella, Dylan, Will, Brenley, Maci, Haley and Hannah.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 3, 2014 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Chaplain Billy Holland officiating.

Burial will follow in the Bowen Chapel Cemetery at Olive Hill.

Visitation is after 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
