Wanda Steagall Weaver

March 27, 1949 — July 2, 2015

Mrs. Wanda Mynhier Steagall Weaver, 66, of Morehead, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2015 in the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center after a brief illness.

She was born on March 27, 1949 in Morehead, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Fred Mynhier and Bertha Davis Mynhier Sexton.

Mrs. Weaver was retired from St. Claire Regional Medical Center, where she was an accounts payable clerk.

She attended Crain Creek Christian Church and she enjoyed spending time with her family, baking, sewing, cooking, gardening, woodwork and refinishing furniture.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Cecil R. “Pete” Steagall, who passed away on October 15, 1985, two brothers, Gary Mynhier and Jerry Mynhier and two sisters, Janet Collins and Carolyn Williams.

Survivors include her husband, Rick Weaver, one son, Raymond (Rhonda) Steagall of Morehead, one daughter, Diane (Ronnie) Abrams of Richmond, her step-father, Collis Sexton of Morehead, one brother, Larry Joe Mynhier of Cincinnati, Ohio, four sisters, Pam Easton, Brenda Walton and Louise Quesinberry all of Morehead and Geraldine Weissinger of Lexington, six grandchildren, Chris Abrams, Jacob Steagall and his fiancé, Julianne Catanese, Lara (Tyler) Nickell, Lauren Abrams, Paige Abrams and Ethan Steagall, three great-grandchildren, Jackson Nickell, Aaliyah Abrams and Raylee Abrams and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 5 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home with Brother David Acree and Rev. Harley Sexton, Jr. officiating.

Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery.

Visitation is after 4:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Raymond Steagall, Jacob Steagall, Ethan Steagall, Tyler Nickell, Derrick Mynhier and Ronnie Abrams.

Honorary pallbearers will be Lauren Abrams, Paige Abrams and Lara Nickell.
