Wanda Sue Horton Kidd

Wanda Sue Horton Kidd, 86, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2026 at UK-St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.

She was born on May 14, 1939 in Rowan County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Clarence E. and Ada Lewis Horton.

Mrs. Kidd had worked at Cowden’s Manufacturing Company and she was a member of the Limestone Apostolic Church.

She enjoyed reading her Bible, cooking, writing poetry and studying genealogy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Vernon Kidd, one brother, Clarence Horton, Jr. and three sisters, Avanell Moore, Betty Spears and infant Ruth Horton.

Survivors include her daughter, Cathy Pettit (Larry) of Morehead, six grandchildren, Danny Lee Adkins, Wesley Todd Adkins (Rachel), Jason Adkins (Summer), Amanda Rose Pettit, Christopher Wayne Pettit (Amanda) and Elizabeth Baker (Timothy), five great-grandchildren, Lily Catherine, Logan, Joseph, Raelyn and Jaden and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, March 6, 2026 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Pastor Rick Crank officiating.

Burial will follow in the Kidd Cemetery at Blairs Mill, Kentucky.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead is after 6:00 P.M. Thursday.

Pallbearers will be Danny Adkins, Wesley Adkins, Jason Adkins, Gordon Johnson, John Riley and Ray Baldridge.
