Walter "Walt" Kurz

Walter Dieter "Walt" Kurz, 78 of Morehead, Kentucky passed away Thursday, February 10, 2022, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead after an illness of several weeks.

He was born in Oberschlesien, Germany on October 28, 1943, to the late Walter and Maria Reck Kurz.

Walt was a retired construction worker and handyman. He enjoyed playing bingo, deer hunting, fishing, reading and watching westerns on television.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Andrea, daughter, Kerri Walker and a brother, Norbert Kurz.

Survivors include one son, Kenn Kurz, daughter, Christina Aichinger and son-in-law John Walker all of Morehead. His companion Nancy Jaskot of Morehead. One sister, Angelika Kurz-Brown of Mesa, Arizona. His sister-in-law, Amy Kurz of Wisconsin. Six grandchildren, Emali Walker, Brandon Aichinger, Amanda Walker, Wesley Walker, Krystal Kowerduck and Cayleigh Ann Sims. Great-grandchildren, Kayden Kowerduck, Willow Kowerduck, Gabriela Mai Sims, Kaine Enis and Rhett Morton. God son, Christopher Kurz.  Also, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Tuesday, February 15, 2022, in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Father Phil DeVous officiating.

He will be laid to rest in the Crix Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead is after 10:00 am Tuesday.
