Velva Caskey

April 5, 1920 — March 17, 2013

Mrs. Velva Clark Caskey, 92 of West Main Street, Morehead, passed away Sunday March 17, 2013 in the Life Care Center after an extended illness.

She was born April 5, 1920 in Rowan County, Kentucky to the late David Marion Clark and Etta Margaret Conn Clark.

Mrs. Caskey was retired from the Rowan County School System as the head cook at Rowan County High School. She was a member of the Morehead First Free Will Baptist Church and enjoyed working in her flowers and caring for her home and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, O'Rear Caskey, two sons, Ronnie Caskey and Robert Lee Caskey. Four brothers, Clayton Clark, Clella Clark, William A. Clark and Opal Edward Clark. Two half-sisters, Mary Sue Clark and Denzil Ann Clark.

Survivors include a step-son, Jimmy (Phyllis) Caskey of Morehead. Five Grandchildren, Kemberly (Mike) Tackett, Krista (Mel) Utterback, Lisa Caskey, Richie Caskey and Robbie Caskey. Five Great-Grandchildren and Three Great-Great- Grandchildren. Special friends, Dean Snedegar, Judy Cooper, Ottie Planck and Tim Reding. Also, several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Thursday, March 21, 2013 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. David Starcher officiating.

Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery.

Pall Bearers will be Mike Tackett, Richie Caskey, Robbie Caskey, Cody Bumgardner, Derik Caskey and Brent Evans.

Visitation at Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home will be after 5:00 P.M. Wednesday.

Contributions are suggested to the Morehead First Free Will Baptist Church or to a college fund for her great-granddaughter, Brook Caskey.
