Mr. Thomas Albert Cains, 79, of Reynolds Road, Morehead, formerly of Mansfield, Ohio and Grayson, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, July 4, 2010 at the home of his daughter, Terrie Markwell.

He was born on April 4, 1931 in Grayson, Kentucky, a son of the late Albert and Nellie Kelly Cains.

Mr. Cains was retired from Mansfield Industrial Plating in Mansfield, Ohio. He was a member of the Morehead First Apostolic Church, Morehead, Kentucky.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by step-son, Ronnie Caudill, son-in-law, Roger Gilliam, grandson, Mickey Gilliam, seven brothers, Elmer Cains, Thurman Cains, Carl Cains, Arnold Cains, Gene Cains, Albert Cains, Jr. and Paul Cains, four sisters, Oneitta Mullins, Emma Caudill, Ramonda Leedy and Thelma Butcher and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Survivors include four daughters, Patty Cains (Randy) and Terrie Markwell (Johnny) all of Morehead, Joan Pernell (Dennis) of Salt Lick and Mary Isaac (Pete) of Mansfield, Ohio, one son, Tommy Cains (Becky) of Clearfield, one sister, Phyllis Ashburgh of Cleveland, Ohio, thirteen grandchildren, Shawn Gilliam (Melissa), Rodney Gilliam (Loratta), Patrick Gilliam, Stacy Brown (Berlin), Ambria Bailey (Anthony), Sancha Ferrell (Brandon), Tommy Cains, Jr., Ashley Cains (Tyler), Christy Holbrook (Adam), Jessica Pernell (Brian), Andrea Hawkins, Dakila Hawkins and Victoria Hawkins, fourteen great-grandchildren, Regan Gilliam, Raven Gilliam, Joshua Gilliam, Wesley Gilliam, Shannon Gilliam, Kenneth Gilliam, Tyler Price, Douglas Bailey, Abby Bailey, Ashton Bailey, Christopher Markwell, Chance Ferrell, Christopher Pernell and Katlin Holbrook, special friends, Florance Wilson, Maxine Hall and Heather Perkins, several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends and his beloved dog, Bucky.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, July 8, 2010 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Brother Kenneth Binion, Brother Charles Scully and Brother Paul Tussey officiating.

Burial will follow in the East Carter County Memory Gardens in Grayson.

Visitation is after 6:00 P.M. Tuesday and anytime Wednesday.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Bailey, Berlin Brown, Scott Warren, Adam Holbrook, Brian Butler, John Stamper, Jacob Flanigan and Lee Binion and honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Cains, Johnny Markwell, Dennis Pernell, Shawn Gilliam, Rodney Gilliam, Patrick Gilliam, Tommy Cains, Jr., Randy Ferguson, John Stamper and Pete Swank.
