Talmadge Lee Porter, 78 of Morehead, Kentucky passed away peacefully Thursday, August 13, 2026, at his home surrounded by the love of his family.

He was born December 3, 1947 in Carter County, Kentucky, a son of the late Edward B. and Myrtle Catron Porter.

He was the owner and operator of Talmadge Porter Trucking.

Talmadge had accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour and was a friend to all. He enjoyed farming, working, classic cars, car shows, University of Kentucky basketball and was a devoted Dale Earnhardt fan. For over 50 years he was involved with the Eastern Star, Morehead Chapter No. 227. He was a 32nd degree Mason and was a member of the Olive Hill Masonic Lodge No. 629 and the El Hasa Shrine in Ashland, Kentucky.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Norma Anderson Porter. They were married February 12, 1971. He also leaves behind two young men who held a special place in his heart and were like sons to him, Layden Howard and Justin Anderson both of Morehead and had adopted Ali Brook Blevins as his granddaughter.

At his request, there will be no services or visitation.
