Susan Wellinger

February 19, 1932 — September 16, 2016

Mrs. Susan Davis White Wellinger, Age 84 of Georgetown formerly of Rock Fork Road, Morehead, passed away Friday afternoon in Georgetown afternoon after an extended illness.

She was born in Rowan County, Kentucky on February 19, 1932 to the late Cardie and Jessie Lenore Sparks Davis.

Mrs. Wellinger was retired from General Telephone where she worked for many years as a telephone operator. She had also worked at Cowden Manufacturing and had been a cook in the Rowan County School system.

She was of the Primitive Baptist faith, loved nature and the outdoors, enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to read, watch classic movies and listen to country music. She was also an avid Alan Jackson fan.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Bill L. White and her second husband, William T. "Bill" Wellinger. Two brothers, James Clyde Davis and Clifford Edward Davis, sister, Mary Jane Davis and  a son-in-law, Jim Claude Clay.

Survivors include two daughters, Jill (Dan) Crawford of Georgetown, Kentucky, Linda Clay (Glen) Stephens of Hillsboro, Kentucky, two sons, Larry (Joyce) White of Belmont, Mississippi and Mark (Kathy) White of Morehead. One sister, Helen (Pat) Kuntz of Kettering, Ohio. Six grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 20, 2016 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Rev. Ben Furman officiating. Reading of the obituary and special remarks will be by Lawrence Dowdy.

Visitation at the funeral home is from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, September 19, 2016.

Burial will follow in the Cranston Cemetery.
