Sidney Lewis

January 29, 1916 — November 10, 2014

Mr. Sidney Clay Lewis, 98, of Clearfield, passed away Monday, November 10, 2014 in the St. Claire Regional Medical Center.

He was born on January 29, 1916 in Rowan County, Kentucky, a son of the late Thomas Henry Lewis and Maude Harris Lewis.

Mr. Lewis was retired from the Ford Motor Company. He was a former employee of Lee Clay Products Company and was a United States Army Veteran having served during World War II.

Clay was a faithful member of the Clearfield Tabernacle First Church of God and he enjoyed raising a garden and spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Elva Lorene Richardson Lewis, his second wife, Lottie Marie ("Dottie") Scaggs Lewis, two sons, Sidney Dale Lewis and Harold Kenneth Lewis, one son-in-law, James "Pop" Bowlin, his granddaughter, Mitzi Bowlin Jones, three brothers, Burl Ray Lewis, Vincent Elwood Lewis and Curtis Elbert Lewis and one sister, Annis Vain Stamper Jones.

Survivors include two daughters, Janet Kaye Butcher and her husband, James of Clearfield and Cloma Gaye Bowlin of Springport, Indiana, three grandsons, Jerry Bowlin and his wife, Connie of Losantville, Indiana, Nicholas Lewis of Lakewood Ranch, Florida and Stephen Butcher of California, three great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 15, 2014 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Gary McQuain and Rev. Jerry Bowlin officiating.

Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Kurtis Bowlin, Brent Bowlin, Curtis Ross, Donnie Lewis, Clayton Lewis, Ted Trent and Rev. Cecil Ison.

Honorary pallbearers will be Clearfield Tabernacle Church Family, Wonderful Neighbors and Relatives and Fellow Co-Workers at Lee Clay.
