Mrs. Ruby Virginia Thomas Stevens, Age 87 of U.S. 60 East Morehead, passed away Friday afternoon July 6, 2012 in the Life Care Center after an extended illness.

She was born in Carter County, Kentucky on May 3, 1925 to the late Allie and Goldie Williams Thomas.

Mrs. Stevens was of the Church of God faith and was a former employee of Morehead State University where she worked in the cafeteria.

She enjoyed working in her garden and flowers and was well known for keeping her yard in perfect condition. She enjoyed spending time with her family and talking with her friends daily on the phone.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Stearl Stevens on July 31, 1976. Four brothers, Donald Thomas, Billy Thomas, Jimmie Thomas and Hobert (Buck) Thomas and three sisters, Juanita Lyons, Freda Thomas and Mildred Bailey.

Survivors include four sons, Danny (Jan) Stevens, Ronnie Stevens, Larry Joe (Vanessa) Stevens and Jeff (Jackie) Stevens all of Morehead.

Three brothers, Bobby Thomas, Gary Thomas and Roger Thomas all of Morehead, three sisters, Kay Hall and JoAnn Day both of Morehead and Wilma Stevens McKeown of Hammond, Indiana.

Two Grandchildren, Mark Stevens and Brandon Stevens and Two Great-Grandchildren, Daniel Stevens and Olivia Stevens.

Also, several other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 10, 2012 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Bro. Don Rivers officiating.

Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery.

Visitation at Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home is after 6:00 P.M. Monday.

Pall Bearers will be Mark Stevens, Leon Hamilton, Byron Lyons, Rick Thomas, David Burton and Carlos Burton.
