Roger Dewey Carter, 64, of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, passed away Monday, July 21, 2025 at his home.

He was born on September 22, 1960 in Ashland, Kentucky, a son of the late Stanley Dewey Carter and Ruby Flannery Carter.

Roger was a retired machinist having worked at Sealmaster for 42 years.

He was an outdoors man, who enjoyed fishing, gardening and cutting wood. He also enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Reds and UK basketball. Roger loved spending time with his family, especially his grandbabies.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Carter.

Survivors include two daughters, Sabra Lowe (Garrett) of Morehead, Kentucky and Kaleigh King (Donald) of Greenup, Kentucky, his companion of 17 years, Teresa Ward, brothers, Larry Joe Carter (Ella) and Raymond Carter (Debbie), sisters, Judy Hardwick (Bret) and Lovena Bailey (Ron), five grandchildren, Luna Lowe, Kardi Lowe, Sheldon King, Andrew Carroll and Matthew Carroll and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead is from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday, July 25, 2025.

There will be a private burial at a later date.

Contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

The Michael R. Gray Funeral Home at 808 Old Flemingsburg Road in Morehead is caring for all arrangements for Roger Dewey Carter.
