Robert Joseph “Joe” James, 54, of Farmers, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2015 in the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington.

He was born on March 3, 1961 in Morehead, Kentucky, a son of Billy Ray and Peggy Joe Royse James.

Joe was a welder and iron worker for DL Braughler Company and he attended Slaty Point Baptist Church.

He enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, trapping and country music and was known to be a good storyteller.

Survivors include his parents, Billy Ray and Peggy Joe Royse James of Farmers, three sons, Robert Joe James and Brandon James both of Farmers and Jesse James of Wallingford, one brother, William Ray (Brenda) James of Farmers, two sisters, Debra James and Diana (Frank) Clark both of Farmers, two nephews, Richie James and Sean Plank, his former wife, Denise Wallace of Morehead and several other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, March 14, 2015 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Caldwell and Rev. Rusty Hedrick officiating.

Visitation is after 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
