Paris F. Ferguson

Brother Paris F. Ferguson, 80, of Morehead, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at his home.

He was born on May 14, 1935 in Morgan County, Kentucky, a son of the late Aubra H. Ferguson and Lula Ison Ferguson.

Mr. Ferguson had been the co-owner of Dairy Mart Drive Inn and Norge Village Laundry and Dry Cleaners.  He had been an agent for Metropolitan Life and Pennsylvania Life and was a licensing instructor for the states of Kentucky, Tennessee and West Virginia.

Paris was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served in Italy, Turkey, South America and Arkansas.  While in the Air Force, he was a pharmacy technician and a light heavy weight boxer.

Brother Ferguson had been an evangelist for many years and was the pastor of the Church of Jesus Christ Apostolic Faith, Clearfield.

He was a Kentucky Colonel, a 1953 graduate of Breckinridge Training School and a 1971 graduate of Morehead State University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Burlie O. Ferguson, Paul E. Ferguson and Aubra H. Ferguson, Jr. and an infant sister.

Survivors include his wife, Loretta Crosthwaite Ferguson, two sons, Burl Lee Ferguson and Paris Ian Ferguson both of Morehead, three daughters, Lornea (Claude) Warren of Morehead, Denise (Dwain) Wallace of Clearfield and Cheryl R. Reynolds of Lexington, four grandchildren, Joey James, Brandon James, Dalton Lee Warren and Brooke Ferguson, two step granddaughters, Kacie Wallace Smith and Erin Wallace Lands and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 12, 2016 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Dr. Michael Anderson, Dr. Don Blair and Brother Jack Vernatter officiating.

Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery.  Full military honors will be conducted at the graveside by the Corbie Ellington American Legion Post No. 126, who will also be serving as pallbearers.

Visitation is as after 11 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
