Nora Edith Blevins Helterbrand, 84 of Elk Lick Road, Morehead, Kentucky passed away Friday evening, May 8, 2026, at the UK-King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky.
She was born in Rowan County, Kentucky October 22, 1941, to the late Everett and Edna Sluss Blevins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Allen Helterbrand whom she married on June 4, 1960. One brother Danny Blevins and one sister, Mavery Blevins Riggs.
Edith was a true homemaker who enjoyed caring for her lawn, cooking, canning, quilting and traveling. She was a fan of Bluegrass music and enjoyed going to Bluegrass festivals. She also found great joy in caring for her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her son Stevie (Barb)Helterbrand, two daughters: Cindy (Kenis) Smith and Connie (Thomas) Gulley. Four grandchildren: Heather (Billy) Wheeler, Brandon (Bri) Smith, Ashley Conn and Chelsea (Joe) Carroll. Five great-grandchildren: Allyson Wheeler, Lucas Wheeler, Nora Conn, Cranston Carroll and Abel Legg. A special niece, Bernita Corder. Also, several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 12, 2026, in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead.
Edith will be laid to rest beside her husband Richard in the Hogge Cemetery at Cranston.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead is after 5:00 P.M. Monday.
Pall Bearers will be Thomas Gulley, Kenis Smith, Billy Wheeler, Shane Gilkerson, Ronnie Bradley, Wayne Caudill, Bobby Caudill, Billy Caudill and Brandon Smith.
