Mrs. Murrel Roe Perkins, 84, of Weaver Ridge Road, passed away
Tuesday, May 4, 2010 in the Life Care Center after an illness of several months.

She was born on November 26, 1925 in Logan, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Charles and Lula Skaggs Roe.

Mrs. Perkins was a retired employee of the Morehead Treatment Center and a homemaker. She was a member of the United Baptist Church. Mrs. Perkins was a seamstress, who enjoyed making handmade quilts. She enjoyed cooking and was well known for her candy making, especially pecan logs and cream candy and she also enjoyed gardening and traveling.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Milzie "Bill" Perkins, who passed away on January 15, 2009 and four brothers, Glen Roe, Edgar Roe, Carl D. Roe and Charles Roe.

Survivors include four sons, Glennis Perkins and his wife, Cara of Fairfield, Iowa, Jerry Perkins and his wife, Joyce, Roy Perkins and his wife, Rita and Troy Perkins and his wife, Glenna all of Morehead, four brothers, Noah Roe and Robert E. Roe both of Elliottville, Franklin Roe of Ypsilanti, Michigan and Garland Roe of Winchester, two sisters, Marie Reffett of Union City, Indiana and Doreen Eldridge of Hamilton, Ohio, seven grandchildren, Angela Roland, Tracy Perkins, Kevin Perkins, Corey Perkins, Nathan Perkins, Justin Perkins and Morgan Perkins, eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 8, 2010 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Elder Eury Barker and Elder Louie Bear officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones Cemetery on Jones Ridge.

Visitation is after 4:00 P.M. Friday. United Baptist Church Service will be held at 7:30 P.M. Friday evening.

Pallbearers will be Angela Roland, Tracy Perkins, Kevin Perkins, Corey Perkins, Nathan Perkins, Justin Perkins, Morgan Perkins, Tyler Wages and Allie Wages.
