Mrs. Maxine Swim Flannery, 85 of Farmers, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2015 at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington.

She was born  April 20, 1930 in Farmers, Kentucky, to the late Ollie and Emma Caroline Swim.

She attended the Apostolic Community Church, in Flemingsburg. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, quilting, and taking care of her garden. Mrs. Flannery also loved spending time with her friends and family.

Mrs. Flannery was retired from the St. Claire Regional Medical Center where she was a cook. In later years she worked at Wal-Mart where she was a greeter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Hubert Flannery, two sons, Roger Wayne Flannery and Mark Flannery, four brothers, Clyde Swim, Fred Swim, Manzel Swim, Clinton Swim and Ralph Swim. One sister, Ella Mae Ramey.

Survivors include her daughter Carol (Barry) Emmons of Hillsboro Kentucky, five grandchildren, Maria Gulley (David) Fyffe, Joshua Gulley, Keith Emmons, Brian (Amy) Flannery  and Lisa Flannery.  Five Great-Grandchildren, Christopher Flannery, Kennon Flannery, Mason Davis, Hunter Gulley and Darla Poth. Also, several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 8th in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home with Rev. O.D. Rudd and Rev. Brian Young officiating.

Burial will follow in the Siloam Cemetery.

Visitation is after 5:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Gulley, Keith Emmons, David Fyffe, Steve Swim, Phillip Swim, and Timmy Flannery.
