Mary Jean Boyd Battson

Mary Jean Boyd Battson, 89, wife of the late Donald Battson, passed away July 9, 2023.

A native of Dwarf, KY, daughter of the late Troy Edgar and Elsie Miller Boyd, she was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and the Caring Sunday School Class.

Surviving are one daughter, Stephanie J. Cowan of Greer, SC; one son, Donnie Battson of Louisville, KY; four brothers, James Boyd (Wilma) of Morehead, KY, Paul Boyd (Kay) of Manchester, MI, Bill Boyd of Morehead, KY, and Larry Boyd of Wayne, MI; one sister, Alene Lewis (Denver) of Morehead, KY; two grandchildren, Sarah Cowan and Seth Cowan (Katie); and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Boyd; and one son-in-law, John Cowan.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, July 13, 2023 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Karen Greene Blondell officiating.

Burial will follow in the Lee Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Boyd, Angie Earley, Kristi Wilson, Randy Cornett and Junior Wilson.

There is no visitation.
