Linden Jones

Mr. Linden Jones, Age 86 of Dry Creek Road, Clearfield, Kentucky passed away Friday, July 29, 2016 at his home.

He was born in Rowan County, Kentucky on July 18, 1930 to the late Robert and Nettie Riddle Jones.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters.

Linden was a retired truck driver for the Rowan County Road Department and had also worked in construction and farming. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the East End Church of God and enjoyed time with his family and going to church.

Survivors include his wife Pauline Black Jones. Three daughters, Brenda Purnell and husband Ronnie of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Dianna Pennington and husband Jack of Morehead, Kentucky  and Loretta Wagoner and husband Theodore of Olive Hill, Kentucky. One son James Earl "Buck" Jones and wife Frankie of Morehead, Kentucky.  Four Grandsons: Gary Bowman, Randy Bowman, Thomas Dewayne Jones and James Brandon Jones all of Morehead, Kentucky. Two step-grandchildren, Jamie Pennington and Crystal Carey, Three great-grandchildren Tanner Bowman, Madison Bowman and Adalynn Jones all of Morehead, Kentucky. Eight step-grandchildren, Tyler Fraley, Kyle Fraley, David Pennington, Ethan Pennington, and Macie Pennington all of Morehead, Kentucky,  Ryan Wagoner, Faron Wagoner and Paige Wagoner all of Olive Hill, Kentucky. Also surviving is one sister.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 2, 2016 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Bro. Ray Glover and Bro. Herbert D. Lewis officiating.

Burial with full military rites by the Corbie Ellington American Legion Post No. 126 will follow in the McClain-Arnold Cemetery.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead is after 5:00 PM Monday.

Serving as pall bearers will be Gary Bowman, Randy Bowman, Dewayne Jones, Brandon Jones, Eddie Ison and Tanner Bowman.
