Lela Gillespie

Mrs. Lela Faye Johnson Gillespie, age 84, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on Monday, October 4, 2010.
Lela was born on March 10, 1926 in Menifee County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Pritchard and Martha Wells Johnson.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Gillespie, brothers,Clint, Kenneth, John and Ronnie and sister, Josephine.
Lela is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda (Carl) Cull and Linda Sue (Donald) Peters, granddaughter, Tracie (Bill) Scheiding, great-grandchildren, Juniper and Toren Scheiding, sisters, Kathleen (Owen) Skeens of Morehead and Phyllis Robinson of Clarksville, Indiana, brother, Roger (Joanne) Johnson of Salt Lick, sisters-in-law, Hildreth Johnson of Salt Lick and Carolyn Johnson of Frenchburg and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Bob and Janet Wells, Wood Glen Nursing Home, Southview Hospital & Hospice of Dayton for all of their care.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, October 11, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel) 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, Ohio, with Pastor Dan Moore officiating.
Interment will follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery in West Carrollton, Ohio.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday afternoon from 1:00 P.M. until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either Wood Glen Nursing Home or Hospice of Dayton.
