Kenneth Baker

Kenneth Paul Baker, Age 82 of Elliottville, passed away Saturday morning, November 26, 2011 in the St. Claire Regional Medical Center after an illness of several weeks.

Kenneth was born September 17, 1929 at Grahn, Kentucky to the late Herbert and Carrie Marie King Baker.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Joan Butcher Baker who passed away November 2, 2011. Three sisters, Cora Lee Ward, Lula Belle Fraley and Carmie Mabry. Two brothers, Charles Baker and Tommy Baker.

He was retired from the Rowan County School System and had been a truckdriver for the Standard Oil Company.

Kenneth was a faithful and dedicated member of the Elliottville Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon for many years. He was a well known collector and trader of watches and clocks and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include one son, C. J. Baker and his wife, Kelli of Elliottville, one daughter, Nancy Lane Miller and her husband, Muff of Preston, four sisters, Jewell Meenach of Lancaster, Ohio, Faye Mabry of Springfield, Ohio, Mary Hamlin of Corbin, Kentucky and Jean (Coy) Adkins of Morehead.

Five grandchildren, Evans (Tiffany) Lane, Sarah (Jim) Cash, Carmen (Joshua) Hunt, Jackson Baker and Ben Baker, two great-grandchildren, Colton Cash and Sawyer Cash and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 P.M. Sunday, November 27, 2011 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Pastor Willie Sturgill officiating

Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery.

Visitation at Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home is after 12 Noon Sunday.

Pallbearers will be Tom DeBord, Dale DeBord, Evans Lane, Jackson Baker, Ben Baker, Jim Cash, Joshua Hunt and Jr. Stegall.

Contributions are suggested to the Elliottville Baptist Church.
