Kathryn Butler Christian

Kathryn Butler Christian, 95, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, at Baptist Health in Richmond, Kentucky. Born on May 26, 1930, to the late William Butler and Lillie Mae Christian Cooper in Morehead, Kentucky, Kathryn led a life marked by love, dedication, and a deep connection to her family and home.

Kathryn built a successful career as an auditor for A.T. & T., demonstrating her commitment to her profession while also embracing the joys of family life. She truly found fulfillment in her roles as a housewife and mother, pouring her heart into caring for her family. Her passion for gardening often provided an escape, as she delighted in nurturing her flowers and vegetables, sharing the fruits of her labor with those she loved.

She is survived by her son, David Christian, and his wife Sue of Richmond, Kentucky. Kathryn also had a special friendship with George Duncan of Richmond, which brought joy to her later years. Additionally, she is survived by two half-siblings, Larry Cooper and Loreda Kay Burton, both of Morehead, Kentucky, along with several nieces, nephews, and other relatives who will deeply miss her presence.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Christian, who passed away on May 1, 2008, and her brother, Ralph Butler. Their memories remain a cherished part of her legacy.

A graveside service to honor Kathryn's life will be held on January 10, 2026, at Brown Cemetery in Morehead, Kentucky, beginning at 11:00 AM. All who knew and loved her are invited to join in celebrating her remarkable journey and the indelible mark she left on those around her.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead is after 10:00 A.M. Saturday.

Contributions are suggested to the Compassionate Care Center, 350 Isaacs Lane, Richmond, Kentucky.

Family and friends will serve as pall bearers.
