Judy Richardson Jefferson

Judy Richardson Jefferson, 71, of Clearfield, Kentucky passed away Thursday, August 20, 2026 at Life Care Center in Morehead, Kentucky.

She was born on August 12, 1955 in West Liberty, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Burrell and Bertha Dillon Richardson.

Judy had worked as a secretary, bookkeeper and project manager for a construction company.

She was a member of the Morehead First Church of God and also a member of the Rowan County Homemakers, where she had previously served as president and in several other offices. She had also been a member of several other clubs and organizations and she enjoyed doing arts and crafts.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Douglas Richardson, Dennis Richardson and Todd Richardson.

Survivors include her husband, James R. Jefferson, whom she married on April 6, 1971, one son, James R. Jefferson, Jr. and his wife, Rebecca of Morehead, three brothers, Glen Richardson, Jr., and Carl Lee Richardson both of Morehead and Jimmy Richardson of West Liberty, Kentucky, three grandchildren, Lincoln Grant Jefferson, Savannah Jefferson and Annalese Jefferson and several other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 25, 2026 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Pastor Matt Richardson officiating.

Burial will follow in the Dillon Cemetery on Dry Creek Road.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead is after 12:00 Noon Tuesday.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
