Joseph E DeVore

Morehead, Kentucky

Joseph E. DeVore, 95, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Life Care Center in Morehead.

He was born on February 20, 1928, in Ripley, Ohio, a son of the late Harry Richard and Louise Chavers DeVore. 

Joseph was a minister of The Gospel, starting his ministry when he was just 15 years of age. He loved the Lord and dedicated his life to serving in the Kingdom of God. Joseph was a member of the Morehead ChristWay Church of God and served in many different capacities in the Church of God Cleveland, Tennessee organization.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Lewis DeVore, one son, Joseph D. DeVore and a sister, Mary Louise DeVore.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Brewer Lucas DeVore, two brothers, Don DeVore of Liberty, Ohio, and Harry Richard DeVore of Ripley, Ohio, one grandson, Jacob DeVore (Montana) of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, and several other family members and friends that will sadly miss him. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Monday, February 12, 2024 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Administrative Bishop Dr. Tony Cooper officiating.

Burial will follow in the Lewis & Howard Cemetery located in West Liberty, Kentucky. 

Visitation will be from noon till the service hour at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
