Mr. John Ausmus, Jr., 81, of the Greenbriar Community of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2011 in the Life Care Center.

He was born on July 22, 1930 in La Salle, Michigan, a son of the late John and Hettie Mae Ivy Ausmus.

Mr. Ausmus was retired from General Motors. He enjoyed repairing cars, collecting cars and tools, watching TV and reading.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Lowell Lambert, one brother, Robert Ausmus, one sister, Barbara Bailey and one grandson, Daine Jones.

Survivors include his wife, Glenna Jean Lambert Ausmus, his mother-in-law, Lizzie Carter Lambert of Morehead, one son, Terry (Angela) Ausmus of Belleville, Michigan, two daughters, Connie (Tony) Jones of Taylor, Michigan and Carol (Donald) Hahn of Connersville, Indiana, three brothers, Harrison Ausmus of Milan, Michigan, Jack Ausmus of Tecumseh, Michigan and Danny Ausmus of Ionia, Michigan, two sisters, Rose McHone of Wayne, Michigan and Mary Burns of Brooklyn, Michigan, sister-in-law, Charlotte (Don) Cox of Sideway, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 31, 2011 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Victor Mabry officiating.

Burial will be in the McDaniel Cemetery at Sideway, Kentucky.

Visitation is after 12:00 Noon Saturday.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
