Jerry Theriot

Mr. Jerry Joseph Theriot, age 69, passed away peacefully at his home in Wallingford, Kentucky, on Wednesday, December 9, 2009.

Jerry was born on September 20, 1940, in Marrero, Louisiana to the late Joseph "S.Hart" Theriot and Bernice Foret Theriot.

He grew up in the St. Charles Community and graduated from Raceland High School in 1958. Following graduation, he attended Moler Barber College and worked as a barber for several years. Jerry was drafted and proudly served in the United States Army. Upon discharge, he worked as a barber and later joined the Ironworkers Local Union #58 in New Orleans where he was a structural ironworker. Later he was employed as a contract worker on nuclear power plants which enabled him to reside in several states across the United States.

Survivors include his son, retired Air Force Master Sergeant Jerry "Joey" Theriot, Jr. and his wife, Emilie K. Theriot and one granddaughter, Sydney Theriot of Fairborn, Ohio, brother, Larry P. Theriot and his wife, Judy G. Theriot of Raceland, Louisiana, two nieces, Kimberly Theriot-Smith of Raceland, Louisiana and Alyson Theriot of Thibodaux, Louisiana and numerous other relatives and friends.

According to his wishes, his body will be cremated and in the spring, his ashes will be spread across the lake near his home in Kentucky.

Jerry will be remembered for his love of life.

Full military rites were conducted at Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. by the Morehead American Legion Post No. 126.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in the St. Charles Community.
