James Burley Boyd, 90, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2026 at UK-St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.
He was born on August 10, 1935 in Perry County, Kentucky, a son of the late Troy Edgar Boyd and Elsie Miller Boyd.
Mr. Boyd was a retired supervisor for Navistar and was of the Baptist faith.
He enjoyed woodworking, carpentry, gardening, fishing and hunting.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Sargent Boyd, two sons, Dennis Eric Boyd and James “Wesley” Boyd, one brother, Kenneth Ray Boyd and two sisters, Jean Battson and Alene Lewis.
Survivors include daughter-in-law, Millie Boyd of Ohio, three brothers, Billy Boyd of Morehead and Paul Douglas Boyd and Larry Russell Boyd both of Michigan, three grandchildren, Scott Wilson (Nancy), Jennifer Lynn Boyd and Jasmine Boyd, five great-grandchildren, Tanner Wilson, Lincoln Deringer, Ryan Wilson, Cory Wilson (Cassidy) and Adalynn Boyd, three great-great-grandsons, Eric Wilson, Ian Wilson and Arthur Wilson and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 25, 2026 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Mike Gray officiating.
Full military honors will be conducted at the funeral home by the Corbie Ellington American Legion Post No. 126.
Burial will follow in the Boyd Family Cemetery.
Visitation is after 12:00 Noon Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
