Elder Irvin L. Hogge, Age 74 of Cranston Road, Morehead, passed away Sunday morning April 4, 2010 at his home.

He was born December 13, 1935 in Rowan County, Kentucky to the late Grover and Ollie Lewis Hogge.

Elder Hogge was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and was retired from the Kentucky Department of Transportation where he was a truck driver and timekeeper.

He was a member of the Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church where he also served as the Pastor.

He enjoyed his family, fishing, hunting and the outdoors.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Elson Hogge, Ernest Hogge, Jimmy Hogge and a sister Winnie Mae Hogge.

Survivors include his wife Ruth Zornes Hogge who he married October 19, 1962. One son, Clyde Hayes and his wife Marvlyn of Hillsboro, Kentucky. Three daughters; Lois Hawkins of Morehead, Shawani Kaiser of Springboro, Ohio and Sandra Hogge Whitaker of Morehead.

Two brothers; Myron Hogge of Ashland, Kentucky and Fred Hogge of Louisville, Kentucky.

Two sisters; Guyneth Lowe of Lancaster, South Carolina and Elsie Littleton of Flemingsburg, Kentucky.

Nine Grandchildren; Amy Hawkins Nickell, Jarred Hayes, Austin Hayes, Amanda Hayes-Ison, Sarah Kaiser, Michelle Kaiser, Joey Kaiser, Stormi Long and Shelby Long.

Two Great-Grandchildren; Caden Lee Nickell and Caleb Lucas Nickell.

Also, several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 7, 2010 in the chapel of the lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Elder Caren Gillum and Elder Vernon May officiating.

Burial will follow in the Hogge Cemetery.

Full military rites will be conducted at the graveside by the Morehead American Legion Post No. 126.

Visitation at Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home is after 5:00 P.M. Tuesday.

Pallbearers will be Mike Hogge, Mark Hogge, Matt Kaiser, Joey Kaiser, Steve Francis and Austin Hayes.
