Henry Davis

Mr. Henry Lee Davis , 66, of 340 Cave Run Lake Road, Salt Lick, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky after a brief illness.

He was born December 2, 1947, in Rowan County, Kentucky, a son of the late William C. and Mary Evelyn Royce Davis.

Henry is survived by his son, Jeffrey Darren Davis (Kristin) and grandson, Riley Hunter Davis.

He is also survived by his brother, Ralph Eugene Davis, and his sister, Wilma “Sissy” Davis Lewis (Gary), both of Morehead, Kentucky. Other survivors include special friend, Donna Christian; step-mother, Lena Wright Davis; uncle, James Earl Davis (Hazel) of Athens, Ohio; aunt, Peggy James (Billy Ray) of Farmers; niece, Virginia Beth Lewis; nephew, Gary Thomas Lewis, a host of cousins and many friends.

Henry was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and lived his entire life in the Morehead area. He was a brick and stone mason. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching U. K. basketball with Bill McClain and his many friends at the Outpost Campground. His grandson, Riley, was a great joy to him. Henry was soft-hearted, helpful and generous and loved his family and friends.

Graveside services and burial will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at the Lee Cemetery with Rev. H. G. Pratt officiating.

Visitation at the funeral home is after 6:00 P.M. Tuesday.

Pallbearers will be Bob Kiser, Michael Christian, Lonzie Wright and Gary Thomas Lewis.



Honorary pallbearers will be Bill McClain, Byrl Russell, Edward Gearheart, Johnny Broughton, and William Sharp.
