Gary Eugene Stamper, 56, of Cincinnati, Ohio formerly of Morehead, Kentucky passed away Saturday morning at Norwood Towers Nursing Home in Cincinnati after an extended illness. He was born February 27, 1965 in Ashland, Kentucky to Delma Mae Smith Stamper and the late George Wilburn Stamper.
Gary had worked as a landscaper and was a former employee of World Color Press. He was of the apostolic faith and enjoyed fishing.
In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a sister, Janie Stamper.
Survivors include his mother, Delma Mae Smith Stamper of Morehead. Two children, Wesley Stamper of Mt. Vernon, Illinois and Brandi Self of Woodlawn, Illinois. Also, Bethany, Jordan, Jayla, Brianna, Allie and Brooke who were very special to him and he considered them as his own.
Five brothers, Brownie (Loretta) Stamper of West Liberty, Kentucky, Phillip (Margie) Stamper of Morehead, Johnny Ray, Alan Stamper and Bobby Stamper all of Springfield, Ohio. Three sisters, Barbara (Mike) Brandt of Dayton, Ohio, Lyda (Bill) McDaniel of Wallingford, Kentucky and Kay Leadingham of Morehead. Seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Tuesday, November 2, 2021 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Evangelist Cornelias Harper and Brother Rick Leadingham officiating.
Burial will follow in the McDaniel-Stamper Cemetery at Wallingford.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead is after 5:00 pm Monday.
Serving as pall bearers will be B. J. McDaniel, Chris Stamper, Jackie Ray Vernatter, Bobby Vernatter, Jordan Harper, Cory Leadingham, Dustin Leadingham and Nathan Davis. Honorary pall bearer will be Donnie Smith.
