Mr. Frank D. Collins, 80, of Farmers, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at his home.
He was born on June 15, 1935 in Morgan County, Kentucky, a son of the late Herman and Geneva Collins.
Frank was a retired foreman for Ironworkers Local 769 and he attended the Clearfield Tabernacle First Church of God.
In his youth, he was an avid baseball player and was scouted by the Cleveland Indians for shortstop. Frank enjoyed fishing and sports, especially the Cincinnati Reds and UK basketball.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Mynhier Collins, who passed away on February 25, 2004, one son, Roger Dale Collins, who passed away on December 29, 2000, one granddaugahter, Miranda Collins, two brothers, Larry Collins and Rick Collins and two sisters, Brenda Stevens and Murna Collins
Survivors include two sons, Wendell (Mary) Collins and Lonnie (Jessica) Collins all of Morehead, eight grandchildren, Kimberly Collins, Staci Collins, Racheal Collins, Samantha Collins, Halie Collins, Joseph Collins, Leah Collins and Olivia Collins, three great-grandchildren, Joslyn Clark, Kyler Skaggs and Lakota Clark, two brothers, Brad (Linda) Collins of Morehead and Bob (Linda) Collins of Paintsville, two sisters, Jewell (Garold) Lacy of Morehead and Erma Plank of Cincinnati, Ohio and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 9, 2016 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Brother Bob Collins and Brother Raymond Steagall officiating.
Burial will follow in the Collins-Perry Cemetery in Morgan County.
Visitation is after 6:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Wendell Collins, Lonnie Collins, Kimberly Collins, Racheal Collins, Frankie Clark, Staci Collins, Joe Collins and Jennifer Sabon.
Honorary pallbearers will be Samantha Collins, Halie Collins, Bobbi Linn Collins and Melissa Shearer.
