Essie White

Mrs. Essie Hay White, 84, of Fall Lane, Clearfield, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2011 in the St. Claire Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Morgan County, Kentucky on April 20, 1927, a daughter of the late Jim and Maggie Buckner Hay.

Mrs. White was a private caregiver, who operated a personal care home for many years. She had also worked at Cowden's, The Eagles Nest and the Dollar Store.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Owingsville Ward and she enjoyed sewing, quilting, collecting dolls and caring for children in the family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, John Hay, Russell Hay and Cecil Hay and two sisters, Maude Mocabee and Stella Pennington.

Survivors include her husband, Watt White, one son, Christopher White and his wife, Millicent of Salt Lick, two daughters, Cindy Lancaster of Mt. Sterling and Jacquelyn Wolver of Clearfield, two grandchildren, Porshia Forehand and John Lancaster, two great-grandchildren, Caleigh White and Bailey White, special nephews, Dale Porter, James Pennington, Dane Pennington and Bobby Hay, special nieces, Betty Jo King and Betty Little and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 29, 2011 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home officiated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Owingsville Ward.

Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery.

Visitation is after 5:00 P.M. Saturday.

Pallbearers will be Chris White, John Lancaster, James Pennington, Dane Pennington, Dale Porter and Bobby Hay.
