Elwood Scott Cantrell, 58, of Phelps, Kentucky passed away Friday, March 15, 2024 at Pikeville Medical Center.
He was born on March 19, 1965 in West Liberty, Kentucky, a son of the late Lonnie and Dorothy Cantrell.
Elwood loved spending time with his family and doing mechanical work on cars.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father Luster Cassity, and one sister Linda Cantrell.
Survivors include two sons, Johnathan Dewitt, and James Cantrell, one daughter Cassandra Cantrell, six sisters, Crystal Sergent (Timmy), Cindy Weaver (Bobby), Jessica Wallace (James), Yvonnie Cassity, Sally Hamilton (Billy), Rebecca Weaver (Dwayne), five grandchildren, Jacob Cantrell, Parker Cantrell, Scarlett Cantrell, Jessica Cantrell, and Layne Cantrell, one aunt Anna Perry, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends that will miss him.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 Noon Tuesday, March 19, 2024 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Billy Perry officiating.
Burial will follow in the Black Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:30 A.M. till the service hour at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be James Wallace, Zach Wallace, Jessica Wallace, Billy Perry, Dwayne Weaver, and James Cantrell.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home to offset funeral expenses.
