Ellen Skaggs Mabry, 86, of Maxey Flat Road, Hillsboro, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2021 at her home.
She was born on August 1, 1934 in Elliott County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Ora Granville Skaggs and Betha Smith Skaggs.
Mrs. Mabry was a homemaker and had worked at Kaiser Frazier Auto Plant in Willow Run, Michigan and Clarenceville Public Schools in Livonia, Michigan.
She graduated from Sandy Hook High School and attended Morehead College.
Mrs. Mabry was a member of the Church of God and she enjoyed Bible study, reading, word search, gardening and four wheeling.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur V. “Art” Mabry, one son, Jeffrey Paul Mabry, one daughter, Marilyn Post, one brother, Harlen Skaggs and two sisters, Doris Hannah and Mary Stafford.
Survivors include three sons, Steve Mabry of Nashville, Tennessee, Art Mabry of Adrian, Michigan and Lee Mabry of Plymouth, Michigan, one daughter, Loretta Mabry of Waterford, Michigan, six grandchildren, Adam Mabry, Amanda Holekamp, Elizabeth McClintic, Alicyn Mabry, Marissa Mabry and Stephanie Mabry, six great-grandchildren, Evan Mabry, Ethan Mabry, David Peterson, Gavin Holekamp, Weston Holekamp and Rosalyn Holekamp and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 22, 2021 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Pastor Robbie Shrout officiating.
Burial will follow in the Catron Cemetery in Elliott County.
Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
