Edith Moore

Edith Moody Moore, 88 of Lower Licking Road, Morehead, passed away Sunday evening July 3, 2016 at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.

She was the widow of the late Ted Moore who died in 2001.

She was born September 9, 1927 in Rowan County, Kentucky to the late Ernest and Mary Atchison Moody. Besides her parents  and husband she was preceded in death by two son-in-law’s,  Lynden Stevens and George Paul Bowman,  grandson, George Paul Bowman II and a brother, Oral Moody.

Mrs. Moore is survived by two daughters, Diana Bowman and Judy Stevens both of Morehead, Kentucky. Two sisters: Vada Collins of Mt. Summit, Indiana and Grace Thompson of Sebring, Florida. Three grandchildren: Tammy Fannin, Tim Stevens and Michael Bowman. Seven great-grandchildren: Jake Bowman, Sean Bowman, Blake Bowman, John Bowman, Shane Stevens, Hana Fannin and Sara Fannin. One great-great-grandson, Sawyer Lynden Stevens.

Mrs. Moore was a member of the Bluebank First Church of God, Bluebank Harvesters and a former member of the homemakers. She retired from Morehead State University and had worked at St. Claire Regional Medical Center, Cowden’s, Hobbs and McBrayer’s.

She enjoyed fishing, cooking, gardening, attending church and spending time with her family.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Thursday in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Rev. Jeff Fannin and Rev. Mark Caldwell officiating.

Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Tim Stevens, Jake Bowman, John Bowman, Brock Moore, Sean Bowman, Shane Stevens, Kevin Collins and Mike Collins.

Visitation is after 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead.
