Earl Leach, Sr

June 2, 1931 — October 18, 2010

Mr. Earl C. Leach, Sr., 79, of Paris, Kentucky formerly of Morehead, passed away Monday, October 18, 2010, at the home of his son, James, surrounded by family and loved ones.

He was born on June 2, 1931 in Morehead, Kentucky, a son of the late Rev. C. O. Leach and Clyde Clark Leach.

Mr. Leach was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean War. He was retired from the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, as well as, the Property Valuation Administration of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Mr. Leach was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church of Winchester, Kentucky. He had also served for a number of years with the Baptist Disaster Agency. He had assisted in a number of states following natural disasters including New York following the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center Towers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gary Wayne Leach and a brother, James Leach.

Survivors include two sons, Earl Leach, Jr. and his wife, Ronita of Shelbyville, Kentucky and James A. Leach of Danville, Kentucky, three grandchildren, Beth Ann Kovacs and her husband, Chris, Emily Drury and her husband, Greg and Julianna Leach, three great-grandchildren, Kalman Kovacs, Olivia Drury and Travis Drury, a sister-in-law, Willow Leach of Morehead, two nieces, Cathy Leach and Cindy Leach both of Morehead and one nephew, Michael Leach of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Graveside memorial services and burial will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 30, 2010 at the Lee Cemetery.

Full military rites will be conducted at the graveside by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126.

There is no visitation.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that contributions be made to the Baptist Disaster Relief, Baptist Men on Mission; Kentucky Baptist Convention, 13420 Eastpoint Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40223.
