Doris Williams

December 21, 1938 — July 3, 2012

Mrs. Doris Joan Binion Williams, 73, of U.S. 60 East, Morehead, passed away Tuesday morning, July 3, 2012 in the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.

She was born in Carter County, Kentucky on December 21, 1938, a daughter of the late Blayne and Lucille Carroll Binion.

Mrs. Williams was a retired banker for First Federal Savings & Loan Association. She was a member of the Lakeview Community Church, the Homemakers Club and a former member of the Morehead Lions Club. Doris enjoyed flowers, gardening, sewing, painting and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, an infant sister and Phyllis Binion Henderson.

Survivors include her husband, Oscar Clayton Williams, one daughter, Robbin (Brian) Brooks of Cincinnati, Ohio, one son, Andy (Debbie) Williams of Morehead, two brothers, Chester (Millie) Binion of Morehead and Lester (Donna) Binion of Jackson, Michigan, four grandchildren, Daphne (Willie) Boggs of Lexington, Olivia Adkins of Bowling Green, Andrew Williams and Hannah Williams both of Morehead, one great-grandson, Spencer Boggs and several other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 6, 2012 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Pastor James Allen officiating.

Burial will follow in the Williams-Turner Cemetery at Elliottville.

Visitation is after 6:00 P.M. Thursday.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
