Donna Kay Collett, 61 of Owingsville, Kentucky was born on September 13, 1964, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Charles and Mildred Estep Saylor. She passed away peacefully on Monday, December 1, 2025, at UK Bluegrass Care Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
She was a devoted individual whose life was enriched by her love for nature, family, and a wide array of interests.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Angel Kay Collett, a granddaughter, Kimberly Day and one sister, Elevedia "Charlene" Griffith.
Donna found immense joy in the great outdoors, embracing the beauty of her surroundings through her passion for gardening, particularly her beloved flowers. Her hands often dirtied from nurturing plants reflected her dedication to the earth and its bounty. Additionally, she cherished the thrill of fishing and hunting, where she formed many fond memories that would last a lifetime.
Despite her love for nature, Donna possessed a unique talent and love for mechanics, often lending her skilled hands to help with mechanic work.
Above all, Donna treasured her family. She took great delight in spending time with her grandchildren, nurturing their spirits and fostering strong connections that would provide them with cherished memories. Family gatherings were a hallmark of her life, where laughter and love flowed freely.
Survivors include her husband Roy Collett whom she married April 9, 1981. Two sons, Cody Collett and his wife Brandy and Charles Collett and his wife Lauren all of Owingsville. Three brothers, Billy Saylor of Morehead, James Saylor and David Saylor both of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. Two sisters, Rondia J. Williams of Surgoinsville, Tennessee and Bobbie Elam of Morehead. Four grandchildren: Boone Collett, Colton Collett, Adalynn Collett and Owen Martin and special friends, Sue and Arnie Henderson. Also, several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Friday in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Brother John Lands officiating.
Burial will follow in the Siloam Cemetery.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead is after 5:00 P.M. Thursday.
Pall bearers will be Cody Collett, Blake Collett, Adam Dunaway, Justin Collett, Justin Hutson and Jeremiah Miracle.
