Don Butler

June 26, 1931 — August 29, 2014

MOREHEAD - Mrs. Don Rita Womack Butler, age 83 of Clearfield, passed away Friday, August 29, 2014 in the Life Care Center in Morehead after an extended illness.

She was born in Olive Hill, Kentucky on June 26, 1931 to the late Ruby Maureen Womack.

She was a faithful member of the Clearfield Baptist Church and had formerly been a private caregiver, a waitress having worked in several area restaurants and had also worked at St. Claire Regional Medical Center as a unit secretary.

Don Rita enjoyed being with people and was well known in the area as the "Hat Lady" and for her participation in the Commodity Program where she was also known as the "Cheese Lady". She enjoyed spending time with her family, taking care of her flowers, both going to and having yard sales. Her family remarked that she was truly a "Yard Sale Diva".

Besides her Mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Roy Butler in 1976, two sons-in-law, Larry Collins and Isaac Flannery, one granddaughter and two great-grandsons.

Survivors include two sons, Charles Rick Butler (Carol) of Morehead and James Kemper Butler (Sandy) of Manhattan, Kansas.

Five Daughters, Franacey Bowling (John "Bull"), Donna Kiser (Bob), Faye Ferguson all of Clearfield, Kentucky, Joyce Collins and Pauletta Flannery (Tom) of Morehead. Two brothers, Tom Langseth of Arlington, Virginia and Henry Langseth of Brady, Texas. Thirteen Grandchildren, Seventeen Great-Grandchildren, Twelve Great-Great-Grandchildren and one Great-Great-Granddaughter expected in December. Also, many other relatives and friends who will miss her.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 3, 2014 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Lands officiating.

Burial will follow in the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Carter County.

Visitation at the funeral home is after 5 PM Tuesday.

Serving as Pall Bearers will be her Granddaughters, Derita Carter, Carmen Wampler-Collins, Staci McClain, Nellie Crouch, Danielle Butler and Venita Whitehurst.
