Delma Mae Smith Stamper, 85 of Morehead, Kentucky passed away peacefully Thursday, February 24, 2022, at her home in Morehead with her family by her side.
She was born November 25, 1936, in Sandy Hook, Kentucky to the late William Peter Smith and Mary Katherine Wagoner Smith.
Delma was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Apostolic in Clearfield, Kentucky. She enjoyed going to church, singing, music and spending time with grandchildren and family. She was a kind person and loved by everyone.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Gary Stamper, brothers, Randolph Smith, William Isaac Smith and Walter Smith. Also, one sister, Ethel Fickes
Survivors include her children, Brownie (Loretta) Stamper of West Liberty, Kentucky, Phillip (Margie) Stamper of Morehead, Barbara (Mike) Brandt of Dayton, Ohio, Lyda (Bill) McDaniel of Wallingford, Kentucky and Kay Leadingham of Morehead, one brother, Donnie Smith of Morehead, two sisters, Mary Evelyn Ratliff of Morehead and Lou Vernatter of Olive Hill, Kentucky. Sixteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Monday, February 28, 2022, in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Brother Oscar Riley officiating. The obituary will be read by her grandson Chris Stamper. Special music will be provided by her grandchildren.
Burial will follow in the McDaniel-Stamper Cemetery at Wallingford.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead is after 6:00 pm Sunday.
Serving as pall bearers will be Chris Stamper, Dustin Leadingham, Corey Leadingham, B. J. McDaniel, Bradley Stamper Henry, Jordan Harper, Billy Ratliff and Jeff Ratliff.
