Curtis Eldon Weddington

Curtis Eldon Weddington, 91, of Fraley Ridge Road, Sandy Hook, Kentucky passed away Thursday afternoon, June 11, 2026, at UK St. Claire in Morehead, Kentucky.

He was born on October 16, 1934, at his family home in Elliott County, Kentucky, a son of the late Harve and Lydia Wilson Weddington where he lived all 91 years of his life.

Curtis spent most of his life farming and took great pride in working the land he loved. He especially enjoyed tending his garden. Whether in the fields or his garden, Curtis found joy in nurturing what he planted and sharing the fruits of his labor with family. His love of gardening and appreciation for simple pleasures will be remembered by all who knew him.

Curtis found immense joy and peace in a renewed spiritual journey. He recently accepted Jesus Christ, celebrating this transformation thru baptism at Slab Camp Christian Church. He cherished the warmth and fellowship of his new church family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Trent Weddington, whom he married on May 26, 1973, four brothers, Alfred Weddington, Bernis Weddington, Kenneth Weddington and Menifee Weddington and one sister, Mary Gillum.

Survivors include one sister, Hildreth Roe of Elliottville, Kentucky and one brother, Wendell Weddington of Sandy Hook, Kentucky. Also, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 16, 2026 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Pastor Greg Bowman officiating

Burial will follow in the Weddington-Wilson Cemetery.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead is after 12 Noon Tuesday.

Pallbearers will be family.
