Connie Carole Burton Messer, 62 of Morehead, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky after a brief illness.
She was born January 27, 1959, in Morehead, Kentucky to the late Norman Burton, Sr. and Rosanna Grace Dudley Burton. Connie was a homemaker and had attended Mansfield Business College. She was of the Church of God Faith and enjoyed crafts, collecting and spending time with her family and friends. She especially loved her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Larry Burton, Owen Burton, Roger Allen Burton, Carl Terry and Rick Burton and a sister Rosetta White.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Messer. Two sons, James Norris and Larry Messer of Morehead. Three daughters, Sheila Shade of Galion, Ohio, Revena Bloomfield of Carter County, Kentucky and Christy Adams of Morehead. Two brothers, Joe Burton of Olive Hill, Kentucky and Norman Lee Burton of Plymouth, Ohio.
One sister, Ina Kay Russell of Shelby, Ohio. Fourteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a great granddaughter expected later this month. Also, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Monday, January 10, 2022, in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Brother Larry Hamm and Brother Andy Lands officiating.
Burial will follow in the Manning Chapel Cemetery in Carter County.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead is after 12 Noon Monday.
Serving as pall bearers will be Joe Burton, Josh Burton, Terry Henderson, Cody Henderson, Larry Messer, Christopher Cooper and James Bloomfield.
