Charles Jenkins

October 13, 1935 — February 6, 2014

Mr. Charles W. Jenkins, 78, of Salem, Oregon formerly of Clearfield, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2014 after suffering an apparent stroke.

He was born on October 13, 1935 in Clearfield, Kentucky, a son of the late Medford and Rosa Mynhier Jenkins.

Mr. Jenkins retired in 1979 from Boise Cascade Paper Mill in Salem, Oregon, as a boiler operator.

He loved the ocean and mountains of Oregon.

Charles was an avid sportsman whose hobbies were fishing and hunting.

He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and family in Kentucky.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers, including Ralph Jenkins.

Survivors include two sons, Charles Johnson of Wisconsin and Brian Jenkins of Oregon, four daughters, Dena Wilson and Kim Owens both of California, Lisa Wickham and Jennifer Neal both of Oregon, thirteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, five brothers, Fred (Nancy) Jenkins and Mike (Sandy) Jenkins all of Clearfield, Martin (Arlene) Jenkins of Lexington, Richard (Diana) Jenkins and Anthony Jenkins all of Morehead, three sisters, Juanita (Wilbert) Crager, Phyllis (Clyde) Sluss and Marion Barber all of Morehead and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.

Funeral arrangements were by the Mt. Scott Funeral Home in Portland, Oregon.

A private memorial and celebration of Charles' life will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the Clearfield Tabernacle Griffith Fellowship Hall with his family and friends.
