Brenda Sue Burton Smith

Brenda Sue Burton Smith, 68 of Clearfield, Kentucky passed away Saturday, January 17, 2026, at U.K.-St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead, Kentucky.

She was born May 27, 1957, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Elmer Lee Burton and Betty Sue Wagoner Burton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Elmer Jr. Burton and two sisters, Hazel Bromwell and Glenna Fletcher.

Brenda was retired from Family Dollar Distribution Center in Morehead. She attended the Owingsville Church of Christ and enjoyed reading, shopping, yard sales, Friday outings with her sisters, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include one son Kevin Burton of Clearfield, one daughter, Theresa Burton of Olive Hill, Kentucky. Two brothers Larry (Karen) Burton of Morehead and Richard (Jackie) Burton of Olive Hill. Three sisters, Martha Stevenson  and Connie (Eddie) Eastham all of Morehead and Myrtle Beamon of Clearfield. Five grandchildren: Chase Burton, Kevin Burton, Kylie Burton, Ashton Rayburn and Noah Rayburn. Also, several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 20, 2026 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Church of Christ ministers officiating.

Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Morehead.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead is after 11:00 A.M. Tuesday.

Pall Bearers will be family and friends.
