Mr. Bobby Hubert Thomas, 80, of Morehead, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2019 at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington.

He was born on April 14, 1939 in Carter County, Kentucky, a son of the late Allie and Goldie Williams Thomas.

Mr. Thomas was a retired truck driver for the Kentucky Department of Highways.

He was of the Church of God faith and he enjoyed trading guns and knives, talking on his C.B. Radio, Court Day Festival at Preston (where he had camped with his wife for over 35 years), watching WLJC, listening to Gospel music, Holiday meals and spending time with his grandchildren, especially his granddaughter, Kaycee, who was his best friend.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Donald Thomas, Billy Thomas, Jimmie Thomas, Hobert “Buck” Thomas and Gary Thomas and four sisters, Ruby Stevens, Mildred Bailey, Juanita Lyons and Freda Thomas.

Survivors include his wife, Irma Jean Davis Thomas, two daughters, Bonnie (Doyle) Kennedy of Wilson, Oklahoma and Tina Thomas of Idabel, Oklahoma, one step-daughter, Renee (Eric) Jones of Lawton, special daughter, Missy (John) Conn of Morehead, two step-sons, Neal (Patty) Conley of Morehead and Michael Conley of Olive Hill, one brother, Roger (Sarah) Thomas of Morehead, three sisters, Wilma Stevens McKeown of Hammond, Indiana and Kay Hall and JoAnn Day both of Morehead, six grandchildren, Kaycee, Kennedy, Derrick, Steffan and his wife Karlie, Hannah and Skylar, two great-grandchildren, Mia and Max and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, May 2, 2019 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Brother Rex Sagraves and Brother Mitch Roe officiating.

Burial will follow in the New Sill Cemetery at Haldeman.

Visitation is after 5:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Steffan Jones, Neal Conley, Rick Thomas, Jeff Stevens, Jeff Jones, Eddie Davis, Daryl Davis and James Thomas.

Serving as honorary pallbearers, his special friends, John Conn, Jr. Carnell, Bud Hall, Danny Tackett, Kennie Lyons, Bud Knepp and Larry Joe Stevens.

The Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead is caring for all arrangements.
