Billie Jean "B. J." Bowery

Billie Jean "B. J." Bowery, 60, of The Colony, Texas, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at the home of her sister in Winchester, Kentucky.

She was born on December 31, 1962 in Morehead, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Billy Hunter and Bonnie Davis Bartlett.

Billie was a Human Resources Manager and a United States Army Veteran.

She enjoyed reading, was an avid Dallas Cowboys Fan and enjoyed watching football. 

Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Bowery, two sons, Dakota Horton of The Colony, Texas and Justin Bowery (Tiffany) of Justin, Texas, three daughters, Jeanna Hunter of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Lea Hunter of McKinney, Texas and Jessica Beatty (Jacob) of Justin, Texas, one brother, William Carr (Cheryl) of Pilot Point, Texas, three sisters, Kim Kelley (Bernie) of Winchester, Kentucky, Bobbie Jo Yarberry (Roy) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Betty Jo Macy of Denton, Texas, grandchildren, Jackson, Marley, Judson, Cash, Charlotte, Malcom and Jecen and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 8, 2023 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Brother Allen Tuttle officiating.

Burial will follow in the Cranston Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Will Carr, Bernie Kelley, Josh Brown and Dakota Horton.

Visitation is after 10:30 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.

Celebration of life memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, July 15, 2023 at the Northview Baptist Church (1981 North Mill Street, Lewisville, Texas 75057) with Pastor Kenneth Wells officiating.
