Betty Fraley

Mrs. Betty Jean Burns Fraley, 79, of Morehead, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015 in the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington.

She was born on September 16, 1935 in Frankfort, Kentucky, a daughter of the late George Everett “Bun” Burns and Ethel V. Carter Burns.

Mrs. Fraley was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Farmers Christian Church, where she had served as pianist.  She was also a member of the Eastern Star (Mt. Sterling).

Betty was very active in the Farmers School Reunion.

She enjoyed antiques, reading, cooking and collecting cookbooks and she was an avid University of Kentucky Basketball fan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Clay Fraley, who passed away on August 6, 2008 and one son, William E. “Bill” Dameron, who passed away on July 3, 2015.

Survivors include one son, Robert Dameron of Morehead, one daughter, Marsha Dameron (Doug) Hood of Winchester, daughter-in-law, Pam Roe Dameron of Lebanon, Ohio, six grandchildren, Christy Dameron, Kathryn (Jon) Snowden, Nathan Hood, Josh (Whitney) Hood, Mary Dameron and Mark Dameron, one great-granddaughter, Bailey Snowden, two step-children, Stephanie (George) McCoy and Jimmy (Trish) Fraley all of Peebles, Ohio four step-grandchildren, Jamie Fraley, Johanna Fraley, Jessica (Josh) Johnson and Kamryn Fraley, three step-great-grandchildren, Payton Johnson, Bo Johnson and Kanon Craft and several cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 19, 2015 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Caldwell officiating.

Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery.

Visitation is after 6 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jim McGlone, Bill McGlone, Bernie McGlone, Bill Royalty, Larry Stevens, Jim Fraley, George McCoy and Tom Jones.

Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and step-grandchildren.
